Before you learn how to get rid of bloating, it is first important to understand what causes it. Bloating usually occurs after eating too much and too fast. Some people have difficulties digesting certain foods, which leads to the stomach getting filled with gas. Inhaling too much air also makes you feel full and cause bloating and stomach pain.


How to Get Rid of Bloating Fast

1. Drink plenty of water.

Water? Who would want to drink water when he/she is bloated? As uncomfortable as it may seem, drinking plenty of water actually helps get rid of bloating by flushing out toxins from the body and keeping the digestive tract moving. Avoid soda and other carbonated drinks. These beverages will just add gas to your stomach.

Your digestive system might have a hard time digesting large amounts of food. Try eating 4-6 smaller meals instead of 3 large meals. This will allow your digestive tract to work more efficiently.

3. Watch what you eat.

5. Eat slowly.

Yes, it’s hard to take your time and eat slowly when a delicious dish is in front of you. Enjoy your meal and savor every bite. When you eat your meal like you are in a hurry, you swallow more air which can lead to bloating.

6. Get moving.

You have a distended stomach and you feel like lying in bed all day. But make no excuses; you should get up and do your daily exercise routine. Exercising is actually one way to move gas and get rid of bloating fast. Take a short walk, dance to your favorite tune, ride a bike to the grocery store. Just get moving.

7. Consult your doctor.

Most cases of bloating are not serious. However, if you suffer from chronic bloating, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor immediately. Chronic bloating might be a sign of a serious digestive disease so have an expert assess your condition so as to avoid further complications.
